Using AI safely at OxCIN

Choose the right tool

For OxCIN work that does not involve sensitive or restricted data, follow and comply with University guidance on Generative AI Tools.

For OxCIN work involving sensitive GDPR datasets, confidential material, or intellectual property, use the University-supported AI tools and subscriptions linked from that page. Do not use public consumer AI tools for this kind of work unless the data has been approved for that use.

When to stop and check

Use extra caution if your work includes:

  • personal or clinical data
  • research data not yet cleared for sharing
  • unpublished findings
  • collaborator material under NDA or similar restrictions
  • code, documents, or outputs that contain intellectual property.
